Would You Try A Dramatic Look Like January Jones?

We’re used to seeing January Jones as perfectly coiffed and red-lipped Betty Draper on Mad Men. But the former model definitely shook up her image at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala by pairing a dramatically sculpted updo with steely blue eye shadow, that went straight from her lashes into her eyebrows! The result? An otherworldly, runway-ready look. We think this was the perfect beauty mix for a night that was all about high fashion, but we aren’t so sure it would work at a less glam event. Tell us: Would you try January Jones’ daring makeup or is it best left for the red carpet? Vote! Sound off below and you might see your opinion in print in our next issue!

not unless i wanna look like a racoon.

No! Too much eyeshadow that exactly matches your eye color just looks weird.

I wouldn’t personally, but some folks can carry it off. Just need to be careful that the shadow doesn’t end up looking like a set of bruised eyes. I think people should wear whatever looks best on them, instead of whatever walks down the runways and/or red carpets…

No. Her eyes look as though she went a few rounds in a boxing match.

It’s not working for her. First off, her makeup artist should know better than to match eyeshadow color to the client’s eyes, just makes her look pasty and flat, no drama. And the shadow going out onto the temples…not a good idea unless you’re on set in the next Star Trek movie. And I love January Jones…but this does not work for her. Bummer.

With the right color, it looks great. I’m not crazy about that blue…

No, I wouldn’t want to look like I was punched in BOTH eyes! Looks great on her though.

I love this look, but I think it would look better of she made her brows more prominent instead of blended. I think THAT’S what makes it look so weird. I really like the way it comes out to her hairline. very dramatic and a good clubbing look.

It’s a great runway look but face it — when will most of us be on a runway? Her dress is gorgeous but her eyes look like her makeup artist played a trick on her and told her “You look fieeeerce!”

It looks cool but I’d try a pink instead of the blue

I use technology to keep me stirhgat. (What did you expect?) I currently have a Palm Treo smartphone. Any unusual stuff (and most of everything else) goes into either the calendar or the To Do list. I sync it with Entourage on my Mac daily, which is automatically backed up through Time Machine to a 1TB hard drive and Carbonite online. When I get home in the evenings, I go through the lists and make sure I take care of as much as I can.I check the lists every day, first thing after I do my Yoga.By doing these things, I keep my clients’ needs on my mind as I go about my day.
