After likening her ambassadorship with Lancôme to “every girl’s dream,” Julia Roberts is finally unveiling her dreamy debut print ad for Définicils Precious Cells Amplifying Mascara–and she’s giving PEOPLE an exclusive behind-the-scenes look. Shot by Mario Testino in a private apartment in the TriBeCa neighborhood of New York City last winter, the ad presents an ethereal take upon which the classic French beauty brand was founded. The campaign is scheduled to bow in August issues of major fashion, beauty and lifestyle publications. The $29 lash-building product is currently available exclusively at Nordstrom stores but will expand to Lancôme counters across the nation this August. she looks like an overglammed barbie doll. not one of her best…just my opinion

Come on folks, she’s a year younger than I am, she’ll be 43 in October, at this stage of life you have a bit of crows feet and your skin is not this smooth and luminous. She looks like she’s in her 30’s. Airbrushing till the cows come home on this…unreal. I like Julia, but why didn’t Lancome choose a real model – how about going old school and choosing Christie Brinkley, who is no longer under contract with Cover Girl, Kim Alexis, or even Rene Russo (who was a model at one time). Julia is million-dollar smile and sells magazines, that’s the bottom line with all of these cosmetic campaigns. I long for the days of Lauren Hutton, Isabella Rossellini, etc. when these lines used real models.

Well, I use Lancome myself, and wish I looked that good! But, believe it’s a little too much airbrushing. However, I WILL try the new mascara, and hopefully, will have beautiful lashes as well. Glad she’s spokeswoman for Lancome.

Too posed, washed out and not crazy about the blonde locks. At least her eye lashes look normal and not fake as opposed to the commercials out now for mascara. I would definitely redo the pic and show more personality!

Julia is so beautiful, I didn’t see the need for any airbrushing. This is a little dissapointing. I know the purpose is to sell the mascara, but she does look like a plastic doll.

Julia…you should be ashamed of yourself. Once again the advertisers are aiming for the stick figure blonde locks perfect face … over 40 look. And they stuck your face in there and then they changed it. If you had any chutzpah at all, you’d quit.

i think it’s crazy they chose julia roberts who usually looks like she got dressed in a dumpster..the air brushing in the ad is so over the top. Julia is yesterday, no ten years ago.

Im truely saddened by the fact taht she has linked herself with a company who test on animals
