Ken Paves On Wigging Out with Jessica Simpson

They were just wigging out! At least that’s what celebrity hair stylist Ken Paves says of the Twitter pictures with Jessica Simpson sporting some dramatic cropped dos earlier this week. “They were actually three new wigs that are coming out from [his and Simpson’s hair line] Hairdo, and the final approval is Jessica’s,” Paves told reporters at Good Housekeeping‘s 125th anniversary celebration of their impromptu mile-high hair session, which included Simpson’s mother, Tina, and a flight attendant, who also tried on the looks. “[Jessica’s] not just the president. She actually wears [the wigs],” he says. “She tries everything on and once we get her stamp of approval, it goes into production.” So what were the inspirations behind the neck-baring cuts? “One was just a short, ’60s pixie that my aunt could wear. That’s why I named it Aunt Vikki,” Paves explains. “The other one has a Victoria Beckham flair to it… [She’s] my client and good friend and Jessica’s good friend.” With Simpson looking so gorgeous in the wigs, we can’t wait to see what new styles they come up with next! I do love Jess’s new show Price of Beauty, but lately she is begging for attention, with the supposed no make up mag cover and the wig pictures. It’s sending the wrong message to young girls to say to the world that you’re not wearing makeup when you actually are. I’ve seen pictures of her without makeup and it looked nothing like the magazine cover shot. It looked scary, like most women do without some makeup.

I’ve seen pictures of her without makeup too and she looks good! Who are you kidding. She looks a lot better without making.

Anyway, Ken totally uses her for attention and it bugs me. He’s annoying. Why she doesn’t see through him I’ll never know.

I disagree that she is begging for attention! Being on the cover of Marie Claire without any makeup just proves the messge behind her show on VH1! I wish I looked that good without makeup! Go Jess! I wish more celebs were as natural and whole hearted as you! :)

I say WHO CARES whether or not she actually wore a little makeup during her cover shoot — the point is her positive message to young girls. YES! REAL BEAUTY IS ABOUT BEING YOUR NATURAL SELF and that also means coming IN ALL SHAPES & SIZES. Good for her for joining this healthy awareness movement, which inspires young women to be themselves – not celebrities, who have unattainable weights, are airbrushed to death & work in a media culture that spreads self/body hatred. I support & respect her more now than I ever did before.

I’ve actually seen Jess in person without makeup when she was here with Romo during the probowl 2008. She really looks great and very much younger looking without makeup. She has beautiful skin. I prefer her without any makeup.

The message is about “MONEY” for Jessica and Papa Joe. Since this show started, we get some Jessica message or quote every week. They are all so trivial, they must be put together by Jessica’s cousin Bart. Please stop.

Oh I just love this duo. They both seem like genuine people and great friends. If I was her, I’d have my bestie with me all the time too! I don’t judge her, we’re all women and we all have our moments. At least she goes through hers with some shred of dignity in tact. I think everyone forgets how it would feel to live under a microscope. And it’s not fair to say they “choose” this life. I don’t think it’s fair they get chased and hounded by paparazzi for the sole intent of money and the moment to embarass them.

Jessica is such a great influence for teens today. I find her so real & fun. She’s as real as you get!
