Can you package the joie-de-vivre of Sex and the City’s ultra-fashionable Carrie Bradshaw in a bottle? Coty Prestige plans to do just that with the launch of Sarah Jessica Parker’s newest fragrance, SJP NYC, following on the stiletto heels of her two enormously successful fragrances Lovely and Covet. In an interview with WWD, Parker says that the fruity floral scent will be a “party in a bottle,” influenced primarily by her character, Miss Bradshaw. “A large part of the inspiration was what I now understand to be people’s impressions of seeing Carrie Bradshaw walk down the street and what feelings that evokes for her and for them — a real sense of freedom and possibilities, a love for the city around her and, of course, fashion,” Parker told WWD. SJP NYC, with top notes of Italian mandarin, white osmanthus and wild red strawberries, will arrive exclusively in Macy’s stores in February, just in time to get fans excited for the May release of the second SATC film. The packaging was designed to look like Bradshaw’s famously over-stuffed closet — featuring a simple glass bottle encased in a reusable canister and topped with a hot pink cap. The fragrance collection will include eau de toilette in three sizes as well as a body lotion, priced between $25-$49. A cuff bracelet with solid perfume will debut in May. I love the bottle and the idea of it evoking her character and closet. I don’t usually wear celebrity fragrances just because of the name, but the description sounds like a nice fragrance. I’d try it.

Love her acting, but this picture of her is total horse-face.

Yes, granted this photo is not the most flattering of SJP, but people cannot help their natural genetics – although if one has tons of $, resides & works in L.A. and succumbs to the pressures of being ‘forever young’ then sure one can have their face chiselled to their heart’s content.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I love SATC and SJP and her previous perfumes. This new one will probably smell nice too, but am I the only one who thinks the packaging looks rather tacky?
