EXCLUSIVE: Cassie Gives PEOPLE the Dirt on Her Clothing Collection

There’s no denying that Cassie has quickly become one of music’s fiercest fashionistas, so what could make more sense than her hooking up with edgy sportswear label DimePiece? “I’ve been a fan of the line for a while,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I randomly went on their website and ordered. They emailed me back, like, ‘Hey, we’d love to work with you,'” she explains of her happenstance link-up with the L.A. label. Cassie’s collection itself will be composed entirely of black and white garments, but she assures us that there will be nothing basic about the looks, which currently includes T-shirts and tank tops. “We’re still in the process of designing different things,” she explains of her creative collaboration with the label’s founders Ashley Jones and Laura Fama. “They are amazing girls with such eclectic style and I really admire that. They inspired me not to be afraid of fashion. Most people are so self-conscious, but with this line and how they’ve created it — it’s really amazing. I just wanted to be a part of it.” As for her own half-shaved skull which caused such a stir when she debuted it back in April, she says, “When I did the hairstyle, I hadn’t seen it on anyone else. It was just crazy, punk, off the wall.” Even Cassie herself has been caught off guard by how many girls copied the look after she did it. “After I did it, people sent me photos of other girls doing it,” she says. “So I wouldn’t say I was the first to do it, but I sort of made it mainstream.” Click here to see all of Cassie’s DimePiece collection. Then tell us: Will you buy from the line?

Yes, I want that “Love don’t pay the bills” shirt. Shorts weren’t bad either. Besides that, not so much.

Britney did the hair thing first when she flipped out. Guess it still applies. Nice pajamas.

The state of her!! Shes used to be so stunning!

She’s a great model. I think she should model instead of siging…and the l;ine look good…edgy, yet trendy.

Anne on

Don’t think so.

R on

I’m sorry but she is trying too much to out-do Rihanna.
The drastic haircut? Already done.

She’s not original and she’s not daring.

“Love Don’t Pay The Bills” shirt is the only thing that looked okay…everything else, wouldn’t spend a dime on it.

not one piece!

I think Julia Styles has it right….poking fun at all these celebs launching clothing lines. How many years of design school did these folks attend? How many hours have they logged behind a singer (sewing machine)? Maybe I should break into acting/singing so that I can get my clothing line picked up. ::shrugs::

She WAS a model before she became a singer. I remember seeing her in various catalogs, ads and Target ads before Diddy made her famous. I never forgot her face because I thought she looked very cute and always wondered her nationality.

Trying hard to replace JLO in Puffy’s heart huh? Not gonna happen. He will always go back to Kim.

What i don’t understood is actually how you are not really much more smartly-appreciated than you may be right now. You are so intelligent. You recognize thus considerably relating to this subject, produced me personally imagine it from a lot of numerous angles. Its like women and men aren’t interested until it’s something to accomplish with Girl gaga! Your individual stuffs nice. At all times care for it up!

Thanks for joining the CDCTT exrneiepce this year, for the positive feedback as well as the suggestions! Closing Time was a part of the 2011 tour, but had scheduling conflicts this year. We hope to see them back with us next year! Julie Dunlap did an amazing acoustic performance at the Jukebox and has shown an interest in bringing her band to the tour next year. Billy Goodness has already checked in with TW and got the ball rolling for them to be involved in the future. So what I\’m saying is that we agree with your music selections and had either already tried to get those acts included in the line up and/or hope to have them in future years!You\’ll have to see what our newest committee member, John Offen, who is the voice for fans, can do about the free beer request!!! LOLThanks for your support, Jeff!
