Katie Holmes to Launch Clothing Line in the Fall

When Katie Holmes first collaborated with her stylist Jeanne Yang to design a gorgeous dress for last year’s Tropic of Thunder premiere, and then again, creating a striking satin jumpsuit for her own Broadway debut, we had a feeling there was a line percolating. And now, a rep for Katie confirms to PEOPLE that a “line will be sold at Maxfield in the fall.” Katie and Jeanne are teaming up for a collection that will include women’s and children’s clothes, according to WWD, which also writes that the “premium designer” line will be full of classic fare and the children’s range is presumably inspired by Katie’s daughter Suri Cruise. We can’t wait to see it! Tell us: Are you excited to see Katie Holmes’s collection?

NLE on

not at all.

If the Tropic of Thunder dress and the Broadway debut jumpsuit are any indication, I will definitely pass. Probably too expensive for the average working woman anyway.

Wow, I thought her own designs looked so hand sewn, and her designer ensembles often miss the mark. She tries so hard and seems so nice, but someone should gently guide her in a different direction.

Bet on

Didn’t liked her previous designs. That dress and jumpsuit! I hope she will make something better of those 2 outfit. Usually i like her sense of style.

shan on

agreed… N-O

Nancy on

Yuck!!! Cant stand her or her style..

darlene on

IF the dress she is wearing is any indication of what is to come- she should stick to being a mom

dee on

nicky on

Ummmm… I’m not that excited about it. It’s not like that it’s important news. She’s an okay fashion icon.

greg on

this is a joke, right?

Lori on

Umm, no thanks. I don’t like her taste.

courtney on

no. she definitely will not be directing her line to normal working class mothers and little kids.

There is something about Katie that I like but, I hate her style. She either looks like she wrapped her upper body in tape (such as in the pic above) or she looks sloppy in all these strange jeans/baggy sweaters she seems to be sporting..

My goodness you people are cruel and a bit judgmental don’t you think? Katie never hurt a fly, she is a sweet girl, geesh. I wish her the best!

Devon on

Ummm, no! Katie Holmes is one of those people that was born without a sense of style. Her stylists are the ones she relies on. It’s so sad that any celebrity can become a designer these days with absolutely no training or ability.

Um on

NO. Celeb clothing lines to me = poor design.

“Premium Designer Line”… in this economy. Are you kidding me?!? Perhaps Katie and her stylist need to spend a little more time reading the Wall Street Journal and a little less time shopping.

Daria on

Who’s Katie Holmes?

rebecca on

i think she has pretty good style. but i won’t ever be able to afford it, so what do i care.

Lisa on

Not interested since I’m guessing it’ll cater to those skinny-minnies of Hollywood with big, fat wallets.

Martha on

Only for the rich ……

I think Katie is a beautiful woman. When she has a stylist dressing her, she looks fab. But when she dresses herself for a normal day, she looks like a box of rags. I hope her clothing line has nicer clothes than the ones she wears.

Based on the two designs she already modelled, which were ill-fitting and awkward looking, I’d have to say, leave the clothing designing to the experts. Not surprising that she would do this, however. She seems to be attempting to cash in on anything that she can get into her hot little hands.

no.no.no. Katie will never be the fashion and red-carpet icon that is Nicole Kidman. why do so many celebrities think they have to have a fashion line?????????? leave that to the designers!

Stacey on

If its anything like the Tropic of Thunder dress and the Broadway debut jumpsuit i tink I’ll pass, I think she should stick with the day job.

Deborah on

Sorry, but Katies clothes never seem to fit her right. Esp those halter top numbers. Better step it up. Fingers crossed.

Maci on

Are you kidding me? No way…UGH!!!

Oh life is so hard for these so called celebs………It must be nice to have so much money, that you can have your own clothes line and perfume lines. Oh whoa is me!!!!!!! blah blah blah! To bad she lacks talent, like most of the so called celebs.

unimpressed on

I wouldn’t buy her clothing line, the energy she/they give off is just all skewed. I feel sorry for her like she is lost and so deep into the wild Tom world she doesn’t know how to begin to climb back out. Take Suri and run!!

mommaL on

Heck no.

Even down to her expressions she’s trying to mimic victoria Beckham. yuck.

ponymom on

Yes, I’m excited however it would be nice if her clothing line were to be sold at a nationwide department store such as Macy’s and economically priced.

Mischa on

the answer is NO

cyndy on

don’t think it will matter whether we would like it or not as it sounds like the clothing line will be too expensive for the average woman. katie’s style is a hit and a miss..not consistent best dressed.

jean on

I’d like to think i could afford it and not only for the rich and famous!
like sjp!
