Lauren Conrad confirmed to PEOPLE that she will be designing at least one dress for
next month’s Emmy Awards, calling it a “huge compliment”. “I’m doing one. I may be doing two,” she said Saturday in Las Vegas before hosting a night at Christian Audigier The Nightclub. The designer of the Lauren Conrad Collection will be dressing the show’s “trophy girls” who bring the awards on stage for the eventual winner. Conrad elaborated, “It’s a huge compliment to be asked to do that, and it was really amazing to be taken seriously.” The invitation to design the dress is a major victory for Conrad who has been chastised by some who recently said she isn’t involved in her clothing line. “I didn’t even really respond to the rumors because they were so silly,” she said. “It was someone who knew how important the line is to me and knew that that would hurt me.” Dressed in BCBG, The Hills star also squashed rumors that she is dating My Boys actor Kyle Howard. When asked is the two were dating, she laughed, saying “No, but I do know him, yes.” — Mark Gray

I kinda felt sorry for her when her line came out. She was getting such average reviews for a very good line. I think it’s great that she’s finally being taken seriously as a designer.

I am not really familiar with Miss Conrad’s show or her clothes, but anyone who sais that someone doesn’t deserve recognition for any achievement is just jealous. Take in point… Stella McCartney (forgive any misspellings). She has achieved a great level of success, and she seemed to have done it right out of school. Yes,she is one that truely came from wealth and family fame. But, does that negate her talent? does that wipe away any success from her line? Only time will tell if Miss Conrad is a true talent or just a product of a Hollywood/ T.V. reality show girl. But, Let us not be too swift to judge what we don’t have first hand knowledge of.

Wasn’t there already a story about this? We need another story to say that she’s flattered about it? Not trying to be hateful but is there nothing else going on?

Here is something that is and always has been true. Remember it all your life.
“The biggest bully is always the most insecure person.”
When you show hatred for someone, you are saying more about yourself than them.

It seems Lauren has some powerful allies at the Emmy awards. Her line was dropped by Kitson and it received very mediocre reviews and the line itself is very simple and casual so there is absolutely no logical reason why she was chosen to do formal wear which is not really her style.I recently watched a clip on the Soup where she launches her fall collection in Bloomingdales and she had two models who had to change and she couldn’t present in a good way or describe any of her garments-“This is a black dress” and “This is another dress”.Duh!

What a joke. I don’t take her seriously at all. Must be nice to not have to pay your dues.
