What's the One Thing in Your Closet You'll Never Throw Away?

Vanessa Hudgens has been rocking her silver-tinted 912 “Silverfox” J Brand jeans since last year to everything from movie premieres to days out in L.A. and N.Y.C., but we can’t blame her for the heavy rotation because we too would never part with some things in our closet. For us, it’s a pair of jeweled flats that are beaten up enough to deserve the heave-ho, but are too comfortable and flattering to throw away. Sure, seasons and trends change, but there will always be those mainstay pieces that deserve a permanent place in our closets. Now the editors at StyleWatch want to know what wardrobe piece you’ll always keep. Tell us: What’s the one item in your closet that you’ll never throw away and why?

I have a vintage camel colour Fendi bag and I absolutely love it! By the way I like the gladiator sandals Vanessa is wearing on the middle pic!

I would never part with my calf-hair, leopard print, peep-toe Steve Madden flats with a bow detail, my black Marc Jacobs and 5 (yes!) Michael Kors handbags, and my boyfriend-style jeans from the Gap.

The item in my closet that I just cannot part with would have to be my vintage men’s Niagara Falls t-shirt. I got it at a shop in Canada when I went on a field trip. It’s a grey shirt with blue mesh short sleeves. On the body, Niagara Falls is written in 80’s style cursive. I still keep it in my wardrobe rotation because it’s so unique. I’ve never seen another shirt like it, even in stores that reproduce vintage shirts. The shirt also has that comfortably thin old t-shirt texture.

i second the leopard-print peep-toe flats, except mine are Mossimo. still cute, though! i will also keep my black faux-fur (it actually looks like teddy bear fur) coat until the day it literally falls apart around me!

I have an old, fitted, just-above-the-knee-length red/brown leather jacket that now looks vintage because I’ve worn it so much. It’s beautiful, and I get compliments on it – from men and women – wherever I go.

We will NEVER part.

I have a pair of gladiator sandals that belonged to my aunt they are over 30 years old but look great and people constantly ask me where I got them from. Also a very cheap black tote bag 5 years old-haven’t changed since the day I bought it.

I will never part with my black patent leather Manolo Blahnik mary jane heels. I got these as a treat to myself after getting a better, higher paying job. These are the same ones that were featured on “Sex and the City” :)

My oversized 100% cashmere cardigan sweater from the OLD J. Crew Collection. It’s from 1997 and is the most luscious heavy cashmere (from back when cashmere was a rarity and didn’t pill) and it’s a subtle mixture of dark blue and black threads so you can wear it with everything. I pull it out every year and mix it with up-to-date accessories and it always looks new.

i will never get rid of all my coach handbags and shoe collection. also my monogram louis vuitton speedy 30 handbag.(i will never let her go. my babes forever).

These plain black Steve Madden flats…I’ve had them for three years, the fabric and sole have worn off in some places, and they even fell in the ocean, but they stay!
