Madonna‘s bold new make up look for her latest number one album, Hard Candy, is already instantly recognizable. So we spoke to Gina Brooke, artistic director of Shu Uemura, who created the look to get the exact step-by-step she used for the superstar’s album cover style.

Start by calming puffiness with Moisture Eye Zone Mask, $43. Follow with Phyto Black Lift Firming Cream, $125, over the whole face. Even skin tone with Face Architect Smoothing Liquid Foundation, $42. Next, make the eyes the focus. Apply Pressed Eye Shadow in M Beige 800, $20, above the eyelids using a Kolinsky Brush 11, $135. Enlarge eyes with Cover Crayon in 9YR Light, $24, in the inner corner and water line of the eyes. Using the Drawing Pencil in Black,, $19, begin at the inner corners extending the line out all the way to the end of the eyebrow. Curl lashes with an Eyelash Curler, $19, before applying Basic Black Mascara, $28, beginning at the base and rolling the brush through the tips of lashes. Apply Soft Cross Lashes, $20, to draw attention and enhance the shape of the eye. Finish with subtle lips by applying Rouge Unlimited Crystal Shine in PK 301S layered with Gloss Unlimited in BG 930N for a chart-topping look.

Then photoshop your face until you look approximately half your age.

Stephanie – that was hilarious…and so true. Have you ever seen her without the makeup. She’s definitely looking great in comparison to other women her age in this pix – but then other women don’t have the millions to spend on plastic surgery, an army of fitness experts (yoga, dieticians…etc), nor the time to spend so much time on “me, me, me…”
Most women her age – and younger are too busy taking care of other people.
Gosh, I remember when I was a little girl I used to idolize her – but lately it seems she’s become somewhat ‘more desperate’ to compete with the younger generations of music.
Well…good for her anyways…

I ADORE her! She is a living Doll. I am always kind (major fan or not) she looks great for her age.Nothin wrong w/ taking care of your self- I cannot get enough of her since 1983.

RU kiddin me? All this “stuff” ($$$$ thousands on MAKEUP!?!) to get that Hard-Candy cover??? Total nonsense. Not naturale …. t-fake. We all see pics of Madonna everyday …. her roots are always black. Not denying the woman’s talent (not a good actress …. to self-centered) as a singer … she obviously has a following. Guess I’ve missed out … never bought her cd’s/music. Hey folks, her daughter Lourdes is absolutely gorgeous … a very natural beauty indeed. Time will tell us what she’ll do with it.
