Lauren Conrad's Next Design Step: Shoes!

Lauren Conrad only recently made her L.A. Fashion Week runway debut, but the young fashion designer isn’t content to sit on her success. In fact, the Hills star is thinking of expanding her line into a mini fashion empire. At the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner Saturday in Washington, D.C, guys weren’t the only thing Lauren was dishing about. She tells PEOPLE that while none of her new ventures are set in stone, “It’s expanding in fashion…maybe shoes. It’s a problem. I definitely have a closet dedicated to [shoes].” Cute flats and killer heels would be the perfect addition to her girly dress line. Tell us: Do you think Lauren should add shoes to her design collection?

What could Lauren Conrad add to the world of shoes that’s not already out there? Her clothing isn’t even original.

Marian on

Definitely yes! I really love her cloth line and I will love her shoes collection. Go for it!

Ditto to what Ohioan said. Her clothes are boring, I’m sure her shoes will be too.

I agree with Kim her close are very boring and don’t the hollywood preppies make enough money that they all have to start there own clothing line ?

She is a really great designer. I know I would buy her shoes since I buy her clothes! Bring it.

shes needs more expirience..her clothes suck and so will her shoes

Kate on

Definitely not. The clothes in her collection are overpriced and shapeless pieces of rag and I’m pretty sure the shoes will be as hideous. I mean, i think Lauren seems like a sweet girl but she should leave designing for others who have something to give.

Venture, venture, venture to your hearts content Lauren. Most people will have negative comments but if designers paid attention to them, they would not be where they are today.

I think that she should take some cues from some really expensive high fashion designers and make them her own, market them for a cheaper price. Sort of like an ode to her favorite designers. I love really artsy shoes but cheaper brands don’t even bother to make anything pop.

SHe could:
1.) Make a shoe with an orange sole
2.) Thong sandals with beading or rhinestones
3.) A shoe with a really funky heel, maybe shaped like the Eiffel Tower
4.) Flats that have little locks on one and little keys on the other
5.) Ombre flats in patent leather
6.)Simple black heels and flats piped in colors like orange, red, blue, yellow, and green
7.)Canvas floral platforms
8.)Sandals with natural fibers like cotton rope, straw, twine and raffia with cute charms on them

No. Her clothes are a rip off of the colorful jersey genre that’s been perfected by the likes of REAL designers with talent, i.e. Ella Moss, Splendid, Velvet and C&C California. I can’t wait to see Lauren’s idea for the “wedge sandal” and “peep-toe pump.”
