Pete Wentz: Unisex Clothing Designer!

04/15/2008 at 11:15 AM ET

Seems like Pete Wentz has something other than his engagement to Ashlee Simpson to celebrate. The Fall Out Boy has signed an exclusive deal with Nordstrom to launch a junior sportswear line that will include graphic T-shirts, hoodies, denim jeans and accessories from his Clandestine Industries label. Pete tells E! news to expect “interesting cuts and designs that are a little bit out of the box.” Though Wentz has always thought music and design should go together, the rocker got his start by accident making clothes in his parents’ basement! The bassist is known for his super skinny jeans — he actually prefers DKNY women’s jeans! — so it’s no surprise that Pete’s newest line is completely unisex! The singer, who admits to sharing clothes with Ashlee, says unisex clothing is “liberating,” not to mention “it cuts down on your budget wearing your girlfriend’s clothes.” Ashlee even road tested and reviewed some of Pete’s latest designs. His line is being carried in 600 Nordstrom locationsclick here to check it out! Tell us: Will you buy Pete’s new line?

The clothes aren’t bad if a girl is wearing them but a guy? I’m 22 and I get the whole punk scene but I’ll never get men (who aren’t in drag) wearing women’s clothes, especially such tight clothes. It’s just ugly and it looks bad. It looks dirty. It is possible to like punk and not have the world see your junk through your skin tight jeans. I guess whatever, its a really popular fad right now.

That’s kinda weird……

I would wear these cloths. I think that it’s amazing that Pete Wentz is getting this creative, it just shows how much he loves design. There’s nothing wrong with what he’s doing, I think it’s great. And although I know other people aren’t going to agree with me, I don’t mind, because everyone has their own opinion, and this is mine.

That’s women’s clothes Pete!!! And yeah, I think you’re just hiding in that relationship with Ashlee. Come out of the closet already-no one cares, be who you are.If not, then why don’t you just wear Ashlee’s clothes? You can just share!

males and females are, uh, shaped differently….and as such, what is flattering for one most likely won’t be for the other, but then, that is assuming the goal was to make people look good, not simply unique for the sake of unique.

Good point batdude…. It’s tough enough finding clothes to fit the different shapes of one gender let alone both! I hope it’ll just be simple unisex pieces like hoodies. It’s an interesting idea though, I’ll be looking for it when it launches.

He’s a designer? He always looks dirty and his hair always looks greasy. His idea of style seems to be a hoodie and jeans. No thanks.
