Matthew McConaughey Launches Beachwear Line

David G. Morgan/Bauer-Griffin

If anyone is qualified to design a beachwear line, it’s Matthew McConaughey. The perpetually shirtless actor has honed his knowledge of swim trunks, flip flops and bandanas over the years — and now he’s adding a surf-inspired line to his j.k livin T-shirt line. The line of swimwear and beach accoutrements will be available on his website starting this summer, according to his rep. Tell us: Will you buy Matthew’s clothing line?

It depends on what they are going to look like, I’m not going to say no just because he is a star. Maybe they will be ugly, but they could be cool, too.

no way would i buy those shorts for my husband. they are ugly. professional designers can’t make swim wear different, how the heck is a two-bit actor going to? if it weren’t for his hot bod, he’d be a nobody. hone your acting skills matt. leave the designing to designers. it’s not like he’d actually design anything anyway, just approve what’s proposed to him.

Hell ya I would. I would buy all of his stuff if he came in the clothing. He is hot and Seems like a southern gentleman that like to live life and have fun doin’ it can ya blame him?

Enough with this! My goodness! I know this society is a capitalist one, and everyone wants to make money, but seriously! I never understood the hype with this man, anyway. He’s not that particularly attractive, he can’t act. He’s just a “celebrity” that works out all day. I dont’ understand why he’s famous.

mjmc-just so you know, the Gulf of Mexico is on the southern border of Texas. Last I heard, that is part of the ocean.

I would have a hard time choosing between him and Matt Damon. But, he needs to lose the shorts. They are way too wild looking.

What’s with all the ‘I hate rich people’ attitude? He has the right to launch a product just like any other person does, irrespective of whether or not he is rich!!! Get a life guy!

And as for the guy who put down’Im not gay’, yah right!!

What makes any of you think he is truly designing any of the clothes. I’m sure he pays some one to do that for him and then puts his own name on the label.

Would I buy them for my husband. If the quality were right, sure.

here in american samoa we have beautiful beaches and we all like to swim, so yes i would buy some swimming trunks from his clothing line for my father, brothers, and boyfriend. i would definetly support these stars who are trying to make more money because they also donate most of their money to various charity programs and that is a good enough reason of trying to make more money!

don’t abuse your popularity. if you have the talent go for it, if not..stick with acting and eventually retire a happy, contended man.
