Christina Aguilera's New Role: Face of Stephen Webster Jewelry

03/05/2008 at 12:27 PM ET

Vincent Peters

Being a muse is nothing new to Christina Aguilera, whose retro-inspired fashion sense is appreciated by many the world’s top designers and stylists — and jeweler Stephen Webster is no exception. The London-based designer, who is known for his unconventional, modern jewelry, has just selected the star as the face of his new Spring 2008 advertising campaign. The ads, which feature the singer swathed in his luxe collection of necklaces, cuffs, rings, and earrings, play on the singer’s Old Hollywood glamour while giving a nod to classic Hitchcock films like Rear Window. And although the pair’s business arrangement is new, the star has long been a fan of Webster as a designer — and a person. “Stephen and I have been friends for many years,” Aguilera says, “He is a wonderful designer with a creative spirit and innovative vision, and I am honored to be a part of it all.” And we can’t wait to see the rest of the campaign when it launches in the April issue of W Magazine.

Couldn’t have picked a more perfect, beautiful face!

Ivana on

she looks gorgeous!

Kim v on

This is nothing we haven’t seen from Christina before. I mean, she looks nice but it’s kind of boring.

n on

HOLY airbrushing.

CD on

Didn’t she recently give birth? What is she doing with this new role? I thought her new role was motherhood. I am no hater, but what happened to maternity leave (quality time wiht baby)?

Shootingstar on

She looks like she has on less make-up in this ad than she wears going out to dinner. She looks good.

Armida on

All I can say when I look at Christina’s ads is “Wow!” Stephen definitely picked the right person and she makes his jewelry line pop out with her unique look and style. It definitely makes me want to go out and buy each and every single piece available!! Great job and I’m sure it will be a big success…

eww she looks like a dead lady.

yen on

first time that i see christina that looks really good

smith on

why is so beautiful? Wow, she is so gourgous!

Shannon on

She looks SO much better without the orange spray tan!!

Joyce on

No matter what they do to her, she is still a very homely girl who hides under 20 lbs. of make-up.

tiffany on

I love Christina, but what did they do to her face? It looks like they airbrushed her nose to make it look smaller. She looks good, but this is definitely not one of the better pictures of her.

Anonymous on

ive seen better looking dogs!!!!

Cheryl on

Could be a manniquen she looks so plastic.

Kelly on

Am I supposed to notice her huge lips first or the jewlery first? She looks good but shrink her lips a bit!

momo on

omg i never leave a comments but i just had to say christina aguilera looks beautiful! they couldnt pick a better person.

Michele on

She is a beautiful woman and normally she wears probably too much makeup, but this is definitely overkill..It looks like if she smiled her face would shatter…

Jamie on

She looks uber plastic!

suz76 on

Now there’s a classy girl. Not like Lohan’s trashy looking pics where she tried to be Marilyn Monroe. And coming from a stay at home mom of 3. I’m sure she wasn’t working on this shoot for weeks. There’s nothing wrong with her taking some time to do something for herself. I would love to go on a photo shoot and get my hair and make up done while the kids were with a babysitter. Good for you Christina!

heather on

CD, it’s a photo shoot, not a full time job. calm down.

April on

she’s gorgeous-as usually

love it!!!!!

Trasur on

beautiful ad

ann on

It is amazing how different she looks without all the eyeliner and tons of blush! She looks so much prettier! In general, it would be so refreshing to see her look more natural. She is probably very pretty underneath the layers of paint she usually slathers on!

Victoria on

I love the old hollywood glamour, so classic, they picked the perfect person and idea

Mindy on

She looks like a mannequin! And I doubt they had that big of lips back then!

Mary on

CD, maternity leave does not mean you have to spend every minute of it with your new child at home. Ever heard of something called a hiring a babysitter?

PAT on

I’m a fan but I wish she would get a new MAKE-UP artist!!This look is the same look she has when she shopping for shoes.FAKE TAN never look right with the old Hollywood look!!Christina needs a new look head to toe!!!

Mina on

Holy smokes… The make up is piled 5 inches.

shauna on

She looks flawless. This really is her style. remember when she went through the Dirrty phase? That was terrible.

christine on

seriously? she LOOKS fierce!

Hilary Pine-Cruz on

Christina is bringing GLAM back to Hollywood – something that is surely missed by folks like me who love and live VINTAGE! Love seeing the show-stopper clothes, jewels, etc.!

marisa on

she looks great!

Patty on

This ad is beautiful! Christina looks great. That style really suits her.

Terrie on

Quit being all jealous,,
She looks good and all you know it!
She is a mom and has the right to take a few pics, how does that take away from the mom role?

la la on

airbrushing, airbrushing, airbrushing… She really does look beautiful in this picture though, she should keep up this look

woot on

She is flawless and beautiful. Stephen Webster picked the best person to represent him!

cashreau on

Very pretty pic, But her nose is airbrushed no doubt about it I have seen christina in person and this is her but not the real her.

Kayla on

I think Christina looks beautiful as always!

lissa on

Why are the young celebs doing this? old hollywood
is gone and all the airbrushing could never bring it back. The ladies in hollywood never had to be retouched like this. E for Effort Christina.

samantha on

she looks beautiful. she is doing the right thing.

Musicisourhigh on

I think it is a great add.The jewelry pieces are nice and the concept just fits

Jas on

She looks amazing! They picked the right person for this. And wow the jewlery is wow!

Jas on

And she looks WOW! amazing.

Shelley on

Wow… do I get me some of that…she is so beautiful this picture is a real classic…

JMills on

They photoshoped the hell out of this…it hardly even looks like her.

simone on

Beautiful. She looks like Gloria Graham a film noir actress from the past.

Anonymous on

luv Christina..

Lily on

love it! she look stunning. very edgy photos! compare to that bland kate bosworth’s ck ad, christina totally rock it!

slm on

CD, you can take a few moments to yourself.
And for all we know, she could have had her son with her for this shoot, or she could have actually still been pregnant at the time to pictures were taken.

There is no law that says you are to stay locked into your house for weeks, after the birth of a child. Some go back to work after 6 weeks, and Max is older then 6 weeks.

Jade on

This doesnt even look like her. Totally airbrushed, man!

Dorothy on

Nice work with the Photoshop. I can barely recognize her.

gossip girl on

I find that she is trying to look like Marlin Monroe but the look is always gorgous.

Elda on

She’s ok i guess, the entire time she was preggies i mean the girl dressed too trashy!! total turn off!!

Jennifer on

She looks like Marylin Monroe. I hate stars like Gwen (and her!) who have white hair and tons of makeup. It looks horrible. And, not to mention she was soo air-brushed!!

she looks so pretty

Lisa on

I think Christina is just beautiful, I love her retro look, it is so glamorous, she looks just like a 40’s style actress!
Your gorgeous Christina!

Goody on

great ad…christina has always been able to rock the best styles, from rocker to retro..

MOM on

TO the comment about her just having a baby and doing this ad, she was pregnant when she shot these poses they just arranged her to hide the belly. And I think she looks great.

Libby on

Christina’s already one of the people I look up to, and this just proves she can REALLY do anything. And she looks amazing! Love you Christina!!

ken on

So much photoshop,fake fake…

ken on

So much makeup so much photoshop, fake…

Wes on

Looks like they took here out of the house of wax. A little less makup & retouching please!

callalily on

“homely”? if you say so joyce.christina is gorgous.the lips are a bit much.but she looks great retro.

Monica G. on

I like everything… BUT the style of her eyebrows-is that what they’re called…they look like they are velcroed on, her mascara looks like it’s been reapplied the next morning without a face wash, and her lipstick job gives no shape to her lips, like it’s trying to make up for something-too big! Otherwise,a good pic.

Amazing? Great? Beautiful? Are we looking at the same photo? She looks like a badly made mannequin at Madame Tusad’s Wax Museum. Or pherhaps a corpse made up for viewing in the casket. What is wrong with this woman that she feels she needs a quarter inch of makeup 24 hours a day. I think there might be a pretty girly under all of that stuff…kind of hard to tell though.
