Heidi Montag Turns Designer -- And Gives PEOPLE the Scoop!

Just when you thought the drama between Heidi Montag and Lauren Conrad was dying down on The Hills, Heidi ups the ante with her own clothing line just months after Lauren launched hers. At an event for clothing chain Anchor Blue in Los Angeles, Heidi confirmed her new project with the brand to PEOPLE, telling us “It’s going to be called Heidiwood, and I’m so excited I can’t even tell you!” But unlike Lauren’s line, where most pieces are over $100, Heidi is looking to “be very price-range oriented. I want all my fans to be able to buy it. I want to bring that fashionable clothing line down to a price range where people can actually afford it.” And what to expect of the line, which will launch next spring? ” I do want to do some cute spring dresses, some little flowy summer dresses. I just want it to be fun for girls.” But what we really want to know is how does Heidi expect her line to stack up against Lauren’s? Heidi tells PEOPLE that “[Lauren’s] is more of bows and a little girlier, and mine’s going to be more sexy and fun. I think they can both do well. They’re very different. So good luck to her, and I’m not doing this to compete.” Sure, but is there room in The Hills for two designers? We’ll have to tune in and see.

im not doing this to compete???!?!.. is she the only person that doesn’t know what she’s doing (besides spencer).. if she really dont want to compete, with all the drama between them, i wouldn’t even come near the “fashion” area, i mean you’re supposed to be a singer right? so just do that… and don’t talk about lauren when you’re promoting your line.. you’re such a user!

Heidi has fans?!

Good for her. If LC can do it so can Heidi. I am so tired of the LC VS Heidi deal. They are both the same. LC has proven to be just like Heidi and the show’s editors have a lot to do with how viewers see each character. In real life, I have actually read and seen more rude and diva behavior from LC than Heidi. I hope her line does well. She is smart to not overprice herself out of success.

Yet another thing Heidi is trying to do to be like Lauren. I rly didn’t like Heidi in the beginning of “The Hills” and I like her even less now.

LoL, does anyone actually buy Lauren’s clothes?

Overpriced for a designer who is barely known, and only known through a tv series. Her clothes look like everyone else. They are plain and nothing special. You can get the same stuff for half the price at any other generic store…or franchise store.

All her clothing line is a tag with her name on it…but really Lauren Conrad???

If I wanted to spend a big wad of cash on a single garment I think I’d rather go to Holt Renfrew or Gucci…etc etc…not Lauren Conrad.

I have a feeling Heidi’s clothing line, if they are decent looking and not near the price of Lauren’s will more than likely sell a lot better.

Ugh…not HER! She ALWAYS wears the ugliest things.

I love Heidi. She is so misundestood. I hope her clothing line does good. I will 100% buy from her. Heidi, keep your head up high!

Let me get this straight, Heidi thinks she has fans other than spencer and spencer’s mentally weird sister stephanie (she acted like a 6th grader on last nites episode) and heidiwood? Sounds like heidi fleiss !!!! and the clothes will look like hooker clothes too !! She is so pathetic you almost have to feel sorry for her. There is not one single girl in my high school who likes her all you hear about is lauren and people in my school have actually bought clothes from lauren’s line. Cant heidi stop riding on Lauren’s coat tails and get a life of her own?

At least LC knows fashion. I can’t really see a fashion school dropout/events promoter/wannabe singer having a successful clothing line.
