Tie a Scarf to Your Purse Like Jessica!

How to add punch to an already fabulous purse? Take a cue from Jessica Simpson, who has been fastening her flashy Louis Vuitton red leopard print scarf to all of her bags recently. First the singer brightened up her simple black Rebecca Minkoff Matinee bag for a night out clubbing, and a few days later she matched the spotted scarf to a red patent spiked bag from her own line for dinner with her parents. Simpson isn’t the only star adding something extra to her purse — Christina Aguilera seems fond of the look as well. We’ve tracked down Jessica’s bags and some great scarf options for you to try out. Tell us: Would you tie a scarf to your purse?

Get Jessica’s bags!
Get a smaller version of the Jessica Simpson red patent spike bag, $78, victoriassecret.com, or get this steal at target.com for $15.

As I recall Reese Witherspoon’s Elle Woods character in Legally Blonde did this as me and my friends did a few years ago…

I’ve been doing this for years. My husband travels around the world for his IT firm and have purchased me Ferragamo and Hermes scarves to tie on my hand bags. It’s ultra-chic!

Just because Jessica Simpson ties a scarf to her bag twice it’s a trend? Please. I’ve been doing that for years.

And I think Jessica dying her hair sparked a new blonde hair trend. Please, I’ve been doing this for years. It’s a great way to incorporate all of my granmother’s old scarves, since silk scarves refuse to stay in my hair.

I’ve also been doing this for years. It’s nothing new.

Everyone and there mama has been doing it for years now… Yeah sure…right..whatever….But noone gives..And not that Jessica is doing it people will most likely follow. She is a fashion icon. Get over yourselves. I think its the reason people.com posted the bloged. They didn’t ask who did it first, second or third. Lmao. So silly. Was the question who wore it first? People.com asked?

Would you tie a scarf to your purse?

Simple. If you have done it before just answer yes. “I’ve done it before”. Enough with the drama.

To answer the question. It looks like a trend worth trying. Very different. IMO. Certainly worth trying. I just love her style. :)

While I get this trend in theory, I don’t really think it looks all that nice to have a scarf hanging from your handbag. If you can incorporate it into your outfit, then great – otherwise, it looks kinda tacked on.
