Relaxation Technique: Lumiere Candle Co

05/08/2007 at 11:00 AM ET

My life can get crazy-busy, and at the end of the day, I feel like I’m left with barely enough time to brush my teeth and crash into bed. But from now on, I’m going to be penciling in some serious downtime with Lumiere Candle Co.’s delicious-smelling collection. Debra Messing and Molly Sims are fans of the line, which uses a special soft wax and concentrated fragrances for the freshest scents, and I can see why! I immediately fell for the candle’s apothecary-chic jar, so I took the Citrus Rind scent home for a test drive. It burned strong for hours, infusing my whole apartment with the aroma of ripe grapefruit and tangerine, with just a touch of ginger. This hand-crafted candle gives off the perfect amount of fragrance — refreshingly distinct but not overpoweringly nauseating. And when it’s not lit, the screw-top lid keeps the candle tidy and polished enough to decorate your dresser. Their other scents, such as Berry Smash and Cucumber Rind, are just as heavenly. that’s not a bad price for a nice candle, and i guess for some people it’s worth it if it helps you relax!

personally i like to take a hot shower and then rub on neutrogena light sesame body oil. the scent is relaxing, my husband likes it because it’s not too sweet or over powering, and i can smell it on my skin for hours. plus i don’t have to remember to get up and blow out a flame!

Hey faith,

I hope you don’t mind but, I make it a point to read your comments, which I enjoy very much and agree with very much too!! Your comments are thoughtful, sharing, honest, polite, and very demonstrative!!!

For me, I have a # of ways to relax, sometimes it involves candles but, mainly for me to relax/escape from reality…I listen to a music that has sounds and wise words that me to another world.

Have a beautiful day!!

Cheers and Enjoy!

HA!…faith, you strike as a person whom is always willing to listen and try new things, that’s great…!!

Thanks for asking about my musical choices….

I listen to my posting name…”Enigma”.

Enigma is different, mature, carries beautiful and haunting messages and each album is different from the next but there is a certain Enigma trademark sound that is prevalent in each one. The thing I love most is Enigma is in a constant state of evolving which I think is wonderful because it shows the artist is growing and loves to learn! But, Enigma’s instrumental works are stunning…now mind you some people think Enigma is intense..if, you connect with Enigma wonderful but, if you don’t you’ll never understand it….Check out the site is in german, but go to “A Posteriori” and listen to the sample cuts he has….I hope you like music with good bass….

Well, my music choices are so varied I’ll give you some advice in checking out xm radio too!! The Groove, Chill, Audio Visions…..are all wonderful!!

Anyway, happy music hunting to you! Cheers!

p.s. you must let me know what you think of Enigma….

i actually like enigma. i can’t say that i own an album, but i also find her music haunting yet serene. it has a very earthy quality to it. much of it has the same calming effect on me that listening to ocean waves would. i tend to picture things like wind rippling through the stalks in a field of wheat. maybe that sounds weird, but i’m a visual person. i once had this double cd that they played in a bar called the buddha bar, and it had a lot of cool and different music on it. good for background music at a small dinner party.

anyway, i like that you always promote peace and awareness. “blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.” no matter what you believe, peacemakers rock!! and it’s nice to read the comments of someone who obviously cares about issues that affect more than just their generation.

also, i thought i might share that i did my 7th grade project on the problem of overpopulation complete with a visual that consisted of a bowl that was overflowing with little chains of paper people that i had cut out!

and now that i have gone way off topic i will say– have a great day!

You to should just get married or something!

Hey faith,

I was wondering, you were thinking of Enya?..because Enya is created by a woman. Enigma is created by a man.

Enya, has trates of being dreamy, ethereal, sleepy (sometimes), peaceful, calming…etc..hence, your visioning of wind blowing over wheat fields…and no you do not sound weird, I am a very visual person myself. I am an artist, a fine art painter, I can see your wheat field with dapples of soft sunlight scimming the surface and disappearing into distant trees…..

Enigma, is alittle more powerful in the structuring of each song…visions created like supernovas exploding, time warp like effects, drifting in and out of light and shadow..that sort of thing!!

What I love most about Enigma is that it is in a constant state of evolving because the artist is always intertwining philosphies and peace in his music…plus, not to mention there is never a break between each song…so, it’s like the whole album is one piece….I love it!

Anyway, I’ve prattled on too much!! See you in another posting!! Have a beautiful day!
