Emmanuelle Chriqui's New Gig: Reebok Spokeswoman

04/07/2007 at 06:00 AM ET

We’re used to seeing her as Eric’s (played by Kevin Connolly) glamour-puss girlfriend Sloane on Entourage, but Emmanuelle Chriqui is working a more down-to-earth look in her new ad for Reebok’s new ‘Run Easy’ campaign. And how did the normally glammed-up star come to be in the ads? Turns out that Emmanuelle was co-star and French soccer mega-star Thierry Henry’s top choice because she is one of his favorite actresses. And it turns out that Chirqui is also a dedicated runner, so the fit was natural to her. “The concept is great,” says Chriqui of the global movement which promotes the concept that running doesn’t always have to be hard-core. “To me, run easy means to move and be active, run, walk, skip around, dance and have fun.” The commercial debuted on Thursday, and we’re definitely excited to be seeing even more of Chriqui when Entourage returns this Sunday. I don’t know why they picked this woman to do the ads. She looks nothing like any women I know, or see working out.
The average American woman is like 5’4 and 140 pounds and wears a size 12/14. Why do all advertisements feature women who look nothing like us, but are trying to sell us clothes.
I don’t get it. Since many of the people who actually buy gym clothes are people who are trying to lose weight, why not show someone who is overweight or normal looking in their clothes?

Although that is a true statement in ways, just because your skinny doesnt mean that you dont have to work out to keep in shape.. Its all about being healthy!! & fit!! Not Fat or Skinny..

Not every woman in this world is 140 and 5’4”! Thats your fault you eat too much fast food! I ONLY THINK pretty women should be advertising…dont hate..that woman is hot!

just to let you know alot of times if you work out and eat healthy you will get a lot prettier and be skinnier and thats why they used her in this campaign.

I love her. If anyone hasn’t seen the movie ON THE LINE with her and Lance Bass, you should check it out. They are both really good in it and it is such a cute movie. I think it’s cool that she is doing the add campaign because she isn’t one of those over rated and over exposed stars like Paris Hilton. Go Emmanuelle!

Kiki, you’re not going to sell workout wear using 5’4 140 lb models. Who are you most likely going to see in a gym, out on the street jogging, coming out of a pilates class–people who are already thin and in shape, maintaining their physique. Larger people are not going to be sporting the spandex anyway, they’re the ones wearing the baggy tshirts and easy pants. Sorry, but that’s just the cold hard truth.

Wow Hunnybunn, you must’ve never stepped foot into a gym!! Your ignorant as hell.

Most people who are in the gym are a little overweight, middle-aged.. etc. Not everyone lives out in L.A. where liposuction is more common than working out.

And before you start the argument, of “oh, well you’re a fat ass and you’re old” I’m 20, 5’6″ and 120 lbs. I go to the gym to build muscle and swim a few times a week. Kthanks.

Kudos on your “pre-emptive strike”, I guess.
I’m 33, 112 lbs and 5’6.
I have a well-rounded cardio and pilates routine. Never have had any lipo or cosmetic assistance. And I’ve had a kid. So, THANK YOU.
