Are You Ready To Go Bare Legged?

03/21/2007 at 06:00 AM ET

Today’s the first day of spring, but does that mean you’re ready to shed your hose like Mischa? Always a risk taker, the actress stepped out for lunch in chilly New York last week wearing bloomer-style shorts and sandals. But we’ve got to say, if it’s cold enough to warrant her wool peacoat and scarf, it might be worth keeping your pants on! Or have it both ways, like Maria Menounous, who paired her shorts with opaque black tights in the much more temperate L.A. weather. Now that spring is in the air (or at least on the calendar), we are as ready for warm weather as Mischa, but we’re sticking to our tights like Maria. So, we want to know what you think. Tell us: When do you ditch your tights and go bare-legged? Have you done it already?

I’m about ready for shorts! But when I am, I will not be caught in either of the above outfits. The one on the right looks like Project Runway does custodian uniforms, and as for Mischa, we’re about the same height and I always feel ridiculous when I wear heels with shorts! Something about already being 5’10” already makes the idea seem uncomfortable in anything past my knee.

I’ve done it already. I work for the head of a federal agency in Washington DC and I had to spend my winter in nude stockings (Ick!) when I wasn’t wearing black tights thanks to a conservative dress code so last week when the weather finally cracked 60 degrees I couldn’t wait to shed my stockings. The thought of putting even stylish black tights on now makes me gag. That’s what a winter in hose will do for you.

I’m not a fan of Mischa @ all. I think she always looks aweful, like she’s stuck in the 60’s or something. Maria shoes are aweful too. But I’m ready for spring! Ready to bare my tanned & toned legs!

Yes! I have on a skirt with no tights or hose today. But I do live in SC and its in the 70s – 80s all week. Thank goodness spring is finally here!

I live in Kentucky, so the weather is always unpredictable. However, I don’t like the style of Mischa’s shorts, or the tights underneath the shorts on Maria.

Who wears a peacoat and scarf with shorts anyway??? Ugly.

I will wear my shorts (sans the tights) on warm days…duh!

As they say, if you don’t like the weather in Kentucky…wait a minute!!

Only if I wanted to get sick would I go bare legged right now. But I don’t so I won’t. Right now in Ontario, Canada, it is still below zero as of today but the rest of the week it is going to be around 10 degrees cel and up. Still a little cool for me. Once it starts to be around 18c and up then off comes the tights/nylons for the rest of summer. I won’t put on nylons all summer. Going bare legged and wearing sandles is what I do all summer.

I don’t ever wear tights. If I’m going to wear a dress or skirt, I like to show off my legs!

i don’t wear tights very much but i do wear regular hoses for work (office) and have to look professional but sometimes i don’t depending what the outfit is. but both girls look very nice and i really dig Maria’s outfit, it looks chic and something i would wear at the office.

I don’t like pumps and shorts look always think of hookers. Other heels are ok.

I think Misha looks better, but my legs aren’t ready to be bare yet :-)
