Sandra Bullock's Supermodel Photo Phobia

03/13/2007 at 01:45 PM ET

Even mega-stars get nervous about getting their photo taken — especially with supermodels! Sandra Bullock co-stars with willowy Amber Valletta in her new movie Premonition, opening on Friday, and at the L.A. premiere last night, Sandra jokingly balked at having their photo taken together. A mock-reluctant Sandra said, “Yeah, just what I want to do, have my picture taken standing next to a beautiful supermodel.” Amber pouted and responded,”Hey. I’m an actress now.” Sandra caved and the two posed together (quite well, we think), and then after the shots, she told PEOPLE, “They know how to stand right, and I always end up looking like a linebacker.” Amber ended up returning the photo favor by pointing out an amethyst that dropped out of Sandra’s beautiful bracelet. “This is the jewel that just fell out of my bracelet,” Sandra said as her publicist handed it back to her, “the one that I twisted and said ‘This might fall off.’ And then I said ‘Oh, it’s not going to fall off. Stop being paranoid.” So much for premonitions.

I think Sandra is lovely – possibly better looking than Amy in this picture.

I am very excited to see her new movie – looks like it will be a good one!

These two women are just (natural) beautiful!!!

I think they both look nice but Sandra has on much more makeup than Amber. Amber’s skin looks very nice, natural beauty shinning through without all the heavy makeup.

Put a supermodel next to a beautiful slim girl who is not a supermodel and the only difference you’ll see is the HEIGHT. Supermodels are just TALL beautiful women. A certain percentage of women in this world are socially beautiful( What I mean by that is beautiful by the barbieish standard that many cultures revere). The average height for a woman is 5’4″ so when modeling agencies only accept women that are at least 5’7″ and often you have to be 5’9″ to 5’10” the majority of sociallly beautiful girls are left out and are not able to model. I know many girls who are just as or more beautiful than supermodels, (they have stunning faces and gorgeous toned and well proportioned bodies)they’re just 5″5″ not 5’10”! The prettiest girls that I know and that guys drool all over were usually of average height. The modeling world is a tiny slice of human beauty and their height standard is quite idiotic. Which is why(as many models have complained) actresses and singers have been given their magazine covers, their spokesmodel gigs etc…) And many of those gorgeous celebs could never be models simply because they aren’t tall enough. IT”S RIDICULOUS!!! In essence height has very little to do with beauty, but in the modeling world it’s paramount. Ask any person to list the qualities of beauty and they won’t even mention height.

I think Sandra always looks great, but it is great to hear “big” stars saying that they get nervous in the public eye too!

Sandra is my idol!

I love Sandra Bullock! She is so funny and so natural! She’s the All-American girl!

christmas: you are SO right w/everything you said! unfortunately for them, models are just ‘hangers for clothes’–a large portion of the nameless runway models aren’t even attractive. their height/weight (ONLY) make them employable. i wish it were different, but sadly i don’t think it’ll ever change. i wish i were taller, (i’m almost 5’6”) but love it when ‘average’ girls like me ARE featured on magazines rather than the minority stick thin models! advertising and marketing products should be geared more towards US.

Of all the people in Hollywood, I’d most like to be friends with Sandra Bullock. She is so beautiful, generous and genuine. And she has talent to spare. Her friends and family are lucky to have her. She knocks the socks off of Amber. If I looked half as good as Sandra, I’d consider myself lucky. She has great taste in men as well. Jesse is HOT!
