Jennifer Hudson's New Role: Avon Lady

03/13/2007 at 11:00 AM ET

That ringing noise you hear is the sound of stars cashing in on their Oscar-related fame: first, Best Supporting Actor nominee Djimon Hounsou signed on to be the face of Calvin Klein’s new underwear line, Steel. Now, Avon‘s just announced that Jennifer Hudson will be the spokeswoman for their fragrance Imari as well as Imari Seduction, which is launching in August. “It’s exciting to be representing the Imari brand, which really embodies confidence and femininity,” Hudson said in a statement. The star will appear in print ads and in the Avon catalogue promoting the perfume; hopefully, no python bolero jackets will be harmed in the making of this campaign.

Jennifer Hudson seems to be getting A LOT of attention recently…
Now she’s going to be in an UNDERWEAR LINE??!!!

oh, yuck. As much as I love Jennifer Hudson… it’s not for the public to see!

… But I do love her sense of style! You go girl.

Hey Angela! I think you read it wrong. It says she’s the face of a new perfume line. The male actor will be in the underwear line.

I use to use Avon when i was younger, Jennifer makes a great spokes person for the perfumes and the prices aren’t that bad, etc.!!

It’s gonna sting when that 15 min is up. I hope she is aware of that.

Helllllooooo….Angela! It reads that Djimon Hounsou will be the “face” of Calvin Kleins underwear, not Jennifer!!!

Angela you’re an idiot. Read over it again.

Justme on

No one takes the time to read…Djimon was an underwear model…Jennifer is a fragrance spokeswoman.

had to laugh at dawn’s post…i was just thinking how they’re going to SO overexpose this girl everyone is going to tire of her. quickly. it’s begun!

I always thought Avon was an old lady brand and would never have used anything but my MAC cosmetics..but I recently tried some of their products and was shocked by how great the quality was! (My skin has never looked better from the skin care products)So I say good Good for Jennifer Hudson–at least she not the spokes person for those trashy “wet ‘n wild” products at the drug store….

BUT I’m really starting to get tired of her. She’s a great singer and I loved Dreamgirls, However, I feel like everyday there is a new quote from her bashing American Idol (it’s just making her come off as bitter and HELLO! you have an Oscar-it’s time to get over getting voted off HOW MANY YEARS AGO?)

oh, and doesn’t Lauren Conrad (from The Hills) have a contract with Avon’s other brand Mark? I guess they are putting out all of $$ into refreshing their brand.

Can’t blame the girl for cashing in on everything she can…that’s what she can fall back on when her 15 minutes are up!!

She is talented and beautiful – good for her!
