Tyra Asks: What Do You Say 'So What?' To?

Today the Tyra Banks Show was devoted Tyra’s PEOPLE magazine cover story from a couple of week’s back (You Call This Fat?). That story received an amazing response and inspired Tyra to launch her So What?! campaign to help empower women everywhere to feel good about their bodies. In this video clip, she encourages three audience members (all donning the same red leotard that Tyra wore on our cover) to say “So What?” to their own weight-related issues. What did you think of Tyra’s Show today? What do you want to say “So what?” to?

I wholeheartedly agree with Lakeesha Gates ^^. While I think Tyra’s intentions may be sincere, I’m tired of her pompous ‘holier than thou’ attitude. When she decided to SALUTE HERSELF for Black history month was the last straw. Tyra needs to stop worrying about other people finding themselves and their individualities. practice what you preach tyra!! Don’t try so hard to be OPRAH. Anyone can tell that that is what your talk show is doing. From your tone or your BIG BOOM voice when announcing topics..that has oprah wannabe all over it. Except one last thing you didn’t learn from Oprah, you will NEVER find her fondling another guests boobs or screaming about vaseline and collapsing on the floor while gyrating into an oblivion of insanity.

Tyra, bless her I didn’t know about press in the U.S. calling her a fatty but I have to say she has sprouted quite a pair of bingo wings.

Tyra is such a hypocrite. She was dissing all the girls on her A N T Model show about being thin. Tyra suffers from delusions of Grandeur big time. She thinks she’s Oprah Jr. … but she’s not even close.

Control Freak ressonnate with anyone?

so what if my tummy isn’t flat? Other than that, I think I look pretty decdent.

The person who posted under the name “what-ever” would definitely benefit from grammar lessons. Why not take that up before becoming too critical of Tyra? If Tyra were insecure, I think she would try to forget what the media said. Tyra is both confident and secure. She is helping many women by continually discussing different weights, sizes, etc… What part of that makes her insecure? More like a great role model if you ask me. I’m glad that she would rather be a role model now, instead of a super model.

she didnt like getting caught while looking horrible in a bathing suit. It can no longer be “hidden” and clothes cannot be used to hide the fact she is no longer “Victoria Secret” model ready.
Now she cares what women look like, NOW she cares to say “so what”, NOW she cares. Yeah ok she cares, NOT, shes just trying to have obese and/or over weight women try to shame the press into showing what she really looks like. Oh yeah she only put on 10lbs over Xmas. 10lbs does not make your thighs look 50lbs heavier.
Tyra once again is “deverting” attention from how she let herself go, to other ‘normal’ women that are large.
Its still a shame that here in the US we are fatter than other country and a size 14 is NORMAL here. Its unhealthy and sick.

Tyra, I can’t even begin to describe the things you are doing for women! You are an AMAZING role model for women and girls of every age! I have STRETCH MARKS in awful places!! SO WHAT?????

wow… there are alot of haters out there! I thought the show was awesome…you don’t have to look like a string bean to look great, and you don’t have to be Oprah to make a difference. It’s all about being an individual, and Tyra is just being herself. I think her show is great!

I love it!

It’s disturbing how many readers attack someone who makes others happy and proud of themselves. Tyra is the perfect person to show young women (and those in their 30’s, 40’s, and beyond) that you can appreciate what you are given. So I wasn’t born 5’10″…I have a smile I can share with others. It’s wonderful to be healthy, but being healthy means more than a hot body. It means feeling good and balance.
