When PEOPLE magazine’s cover story on Tyra Banks (You Call This Fat?) hit the stands, neither we nor Tyra could believe the amazing response. Nearly 1000 of you left comments here on Off The Rack, and 300 more wrote letters to the magazine. After learning how many women she had inspired to love their bodies, the talk show host she decided to dedicate an entire show to that very subject. On Monday, February 26, The Tyra Banks Show will feature a whole audience full of women wearing the same red leotard — donning their weights for national TV. Be sure to catch the launch of Tyra’s new “So What?” campaign, as she encourages women everywhere to say to ourselves, “I’m not perfect — so what?!” Then, come back here on Monday afternoon to tell us your thoughts on the show. See you then!

tyra, tyra, TYRA!!! it must be so lonely in her world. her way of garnering publicity for herself by ‘helping others’ is so played out at this point.
get over yourself girl!

I think what Tyra is doing is great. I don’t think she is trying to get publicity for herself as the above poster thinks. I think she is just trying to say “Hey, I was on the cover of SI and nobody’s body is perfect. Not even mine…..a super model.” I think what she is doing is extremely positive and will help many women raise their self esteem toward their own bodies.
The poster above is just a HATER! You, get over yourself!

no hate here! i think the camp she has for young girls is sincere and helpful, the rest of it is for ratings and to show off her body. just being realistic here, fairy. :)

I love Tyra, as well as the message she is sending to girls all over the world. I think she has good intentions and just simply wants other women to feel good about their bodies too.

If there were more women out there like Tyra, you wouldn’t hear about all these stick figured models dying from anorexia, etc.

Just want to say a big THANK YOU to Tyra!

I think it’s great that such initiatives are being taken by the media community. I also really liked the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty. They did this amazing little videoclip called Evolution that you can check out here:
You gotta love Photoshop! I’m not a big fan of Tyra’s – that’s just how I feel – but if this can make a difference, I’m all for it. Ultimately, we all have to be thankful for our health – skinny or curvy, gorgeous or not!

i love tyra! shes my new hero! i think her new campaign is great! who cares if shes “doing it for publicity or just to show off her body” (which i dont think she is.) this is such a common problem. expecially in young girls and women. i think what shes doing is just what women everywhere need.

I think Tyra is doing something awesome for the women everywhere. Of course there is going to be the few that have to always be like “Oh god this again.” But I think she is doing something great. If you don’t like don’t watch it.
