Why Teri Hatcher and I Love Dermacia

01/30/2007 at 10:58 AM ET

It may not roll off the tongue like Creme de la Mer, but I was introduced to Dermacia foundation last week under the most dire skincare conditions at Sundance, and I can’t stop raving it. The foundation allows oxygen to reach your pores and prevents your skin from over-producing oil, but it feels like I have no makeup on whatsoever. Two people actually told me I have beautiful skin today! After years of carrying around camaflouge sticks and oil blotters, I think I have finally found the perfect foundation for my combination skin. We hear that Teri Hatcher and Rachel Hunter are fans too — you can snag it on the line’s website, for $48 a bottle. — Lisa Ingrassia

I don’t use foundation only powder but willing to try something new but the price, goodness not sure.

A bit too expensive for me. I guess if I had the stars money I could afford it. But I’m not and can’t afford that. For all that I use foundation, I’ll stick to my clog pore price.

I might be tempted to try it, but they don’t have a porcelian shade with pink undertones. Might as well stick with my cheaper brand.

Somewhat expensive ~ but I tried Dermacia just a couple of weeks ago from an info show on TV and I must say that it lives up to the hype! This is from someone what has always had problem skin ~ my pores are extremely small and anything clogging them (makeup, dry skin, etc…) causes a breakout. I haven’t used long enough to honestly say that I see a difference in my skin, but I can say the makeup gives me such a beautiful coverage and glow ~ and I have scars from acne to boot. If you go online, they have a 30 day money back guarentee. AND you get two free brushes, cleanser and toner for $100.00 broken out to two payments NOT THAT’S WORTH TRYING!!!!

Well, I’m always looking for new and better foundation, but was disappointed when I went to the website. It’s one of those “club” programs, and I’m just not into that. It’s too bad though, because I would really like to try it!

the ingredients look so so. i like more natural ingredients. I’ll stick with my bare minerals line. But I am always tempted by new make up. maybe someday…

I tried this product last time I had a facial and even the aesthetician couldn’t find the right shade to match my tone and I am generally easy to match. Unfortunately, it is like most other tinted moisturizers and only comes in a limited number of shades. It did feel light when it was applied.

My mother and girlfriend both love it and they say that its well worth the price and that it last longer then other simular sized foundations.

RE: the bear minerals makeups – that’s what I’ve been using for 4 years before I tried this. A benefit, it does not rub off on your clothes like BE. Shh… don’t tell anyone but I use Dermacia for my all over coverage and add BE warmth to give me a glow for nights out. Also, the $100 deal I mentioned earlier ~ this encludes two shades (you can mix to customize or exchange either for a different shade, an applicator brush, and smaller brush to apply around the eyss, toner and cleanser. And with the club situation, I ordered and simply emailed them to opt out as i’m not into the club thing either. TRY IT

I have been using and selling Dermacia M.D. in my medspa for months. The lycogel ingrediant is stronger and the spf in 30 instead of 15. I can’t keep this product on the shelves. I also do a lot of makeup for special events, and everyone loves how well it photographs. You can order it from me without joining the online club. Esthetic Elements medspa 954-673-8115

Might want to check the better business bureau site. Dermacia as a company gets a grade of F as in FRAUD!

I dont understand why you would have Dermacia on your website, maybe you don’t know that they are scamming the public. They have been reported by Hundreds to The Better Business Bureau, and Dermacia has an F rating with the BBB, they are trying to shut them down because of all the complaints. They are scamming people, saying they loose their packages and refuse to refund peoples money. They actually are refusing people customer service. Check out this web site for more information if you dont want to continue to advertise a Scamming Company

Hi Everyone,

I just stumbled upon this article and I wanted to post a response to the above comments on Dermacia’s BBB grade. I myself actually work for Dermacia, so I want to make a clarification in this area. We received that F rating when we were still a brand new company. Basically, we became VERY popular VERY quickly-practically overnight. We simply didn’t have the manpower to handle the enormous number of orders we were receiving. EVERYTHING was going slowly; orders, returns, manufacturing, etc. HOWEVER, since then we have hired hundreds of new employees and we are now able to handle the huge number of orders we receive on a daily basis. In fact, our BBB rating is no longer an F-we are working on a constant basis to ensure our customers’ happiness and satisfaction. Dermacia is devoted to offering people something that will make them look and feel more beautiful. Please don’t cast a quick judgment on us based on our issues as a brand new company. I stand behind this company 100%, and I know that we would never do anything to “scam” or “cheat” our customers. If you would like further information on Dermacia, please visit our web site or call (866)831-2914. Thank you!

This 866 number comes up on my phone constantly with a hang-up when answered. Just remove me from your list. As you can see there is no contact info or even if you wanted to order this crap can’t do it easily. Probably an Obama supporter

Hi, I do believe your web site could possibly be having internet browser compatibility issues.
Whenever I look at your site in Safari, it looks fine however,
if opening in IE, it has some overlapping issues.

I merely wanted to give you a quick heads up!

Apart from that, excellent blog!
