Wanna Smell Like Christina Aguilera?

01/11/2007 at 04:00 PM ET

Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani — add Christina Aguilera to the ever-growing list of pop stars with their own fragrance. She just announced a deal with Procter 7 Gamble to create a line of her own signature scents, with a yet-to-be determined release date. Christina says of her decision to put her name on a fragrance, “I love trying new things in my music and in fashion. To have a perfume of my own is the beginning of an exciting adventure.” As if selling over 25 million albums hasn’t been keeping her busy enough! Tell us: Will you buy Christina’s perfume?

Absolutely not. Actresses and singers are not trained in the art of perfumery, they are trained in how to sell themselves and whatever product bears their name. I love perfume and demand that they be original and a by-product of someone’s natural talent – not an offshoot of his/her famous name. If I am going to spend $100 on a bottle, I would prefer to buy perfume from the likes of Serge Lutens or L’Artisan Parfumeur, instead of making Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera $100 richer. Haven’t we consumed enough of their videos?

I’m not sure. Sometimes I am surprised by pop stars perfumes. Britney Spears Fantasy actually smells really good, but I am not a fan of hers personally. So, who knows, maybe Christina will come up with a winner?

I will have to smell it first. I will wear whatever it is, regardless of who made it, what it is called, ect. If it smells good, I wear it!

Forget about parfumes. I am allergic to it. It makes my sinus hurt like hell, and I also do sneeze a storm. Its time we ban parfumes, not makeups.

I dont know!! Maybe if it is not soooooo expensive like all the others!! I mean really, not everyone has 50 buck to spend on purfume when you can get just as good but cheaper!!

Has anyone every noticed how deformed and ugly Cristina’s shoulders are?

Okay I refuse to put anyone down for trying a new business gamble. Reguardless of how “played out” it may seem. I congratulate Christina on her musical success and beautiful voice, but also for starting a new business venture. I will you all the luck in the world.

I don’t get celebrities that come out with their own perfume lines. I mean, they don’t really come up with the scents themselves and do all of the chemistry to make the stuff smell nice, so why do they claim it as theirs?
