Who's Behind Rihanna's Ultra-Glam Costumes?

12/04/2006 at 03:30 PM ET

What happens when world-reknowned designers create costumes for a hot young pop sensation? If you catch Rihanna’s European tour with the Pussycat Dolls, which kicked off Nov. 16th, you’ll find out — her costumes were exclusively designed for her by Dolce and Gabbana, who have created iconic tour looks for Madonna and Kylie Minogue. Expect to the see the singer sizzle on-stage in everything from PVC corset bodysuits to crystal encrusted hotpants and satin blouses. So why did the designers-to-the-megastars choose to work with Rihanna? “She’s a break-out talent with decades of success ahead of her and we wanted to be a part of that sensation.” Now, that’s a vote of style confidence to bank on.

its cute i like it!

I think the design and the general concept is bangin but i don’t think the execution was very cute. Rihanna looks a little strange, i don’t know. The top doesn’t compliment her bust, from what I can tell the hot pants should be tighter and the beret doesn’t look right just perched on her head like that…it should be cocked to the side more. but i still love rihann! she’s a beautiful fabulous girl…even if she is trying to steal Jay-Z from Beyonce!!! :)

Rhianna is a Caribbean sensation. I am from the Bahamas and i am so proud of her success. I love how she remembers where she comes from and what her culture means to her. Continue your career you are awesome girl.

Wow. Seems like I’m more of a fan of the designer then the singer but hey it goes both ways. I also recall D&G designing outfits for Madonna’s tour as I saw some of the sketches. Dolce and Gabbana are great designers when it comes to things like these and I look forward to see what there doing next!

Hm. LOOOOOOOVE her music. LOOOOOOOOOOOVE the design. Just not the two together. The design shows a model with curves…makes me think of Raquel Welch, not Rihanna. Funny how the DESIGNS always show curves, but the models don’t. Weird how that happens.
She’s so beautiful anyway, keep singing, gorgeous!
