Shop from Ugly Betty's Wardrobe

11/23/2006 at 06:00 AM ET

We admit it — we watch breakout hit Ugly Betty as much for the wild fashion as much as for the plot points. And we aren’t alone! Taking the concept of “interactive television” one step further, the show’s wardrobe closet has been turned into into an online store. Costume designer Eduardo Castro tells PEOPLE that he doesn’t focus on the fans when he dresses the cast – especially since pieces are custom made – but that the clothes end up being “what a lot of people would definitely want.” Castro’s costume must-have? Fashionista Wilhelmina’s (played by Vanessa L. Williams) Dolce & Gabbana “shift dresses that just work on.” Want to buy your own piece of Ugly Betty‘s wardrobe? Click here to check out the collection, and check back for updates after each episode. Aren’t you dying for that infamous “Guadalajara” poncho?

Well…I wouldn’t wear that…

I’v never seen the show, but from the “looks” of it (pardon the pun) I would say it takes a lot of guts and confidence for an actress to make herself “ugly”! Especially with all the standards of beauty that Hollywood holds so high.

This site is really cool – you can actually get all the items from the different shows. I can’t believe that they dress Betty in stuff from Neiman’s though – would have thought her clothes came off the Tar-jhay rack or something. it seems like the people have a blog too and they have people on the set to get info on the clothes before the show airs. Nifty idea.

Why do so many people make fun of Target (tarjhay?), Walmart, jcpenny? Having true style doesn’t come from shopping exclusively at Barney’s!! It comes from having style and finding little jems in even KMART!! I have both a Diane Von Furstendburg and Kmart wrap dress side by side in my closet! I have inky blue St. John’s Bay jeans from JcPenny snuggling up to my Joe’s Jeans! Love them both!

If it’s fabulous, it just is. Don’t be a fashion snob!! Look at MK Olsen?? She spends a fortune on her clothes and looks disheveled!

I just meant I was surprised Betty’s wardrobe was so expensive. Seems like since she’s protrayed as a “regular” person, she would shop at “regular” stores – like I do – Target, Forever 21, etc… not Neiman’s. :)

oh alright, you make sense, you’re off the hook then.
now, let’s go shopping together! :)

To Erica—I’m glad Winston wrote you back because I think Target has fantastic stuff! (Frankly, some of my favorite shopping moments have been spent there recently!!)
