Lindsay Turns Anti-Fur: What's Your Take on The Fur Debate?

11/20/2006 at 01:55 PM ET

No stranger to wearing fur, Lindsay Lohan was about to be named to PETA’s upcoming worst-dressed list. But a PETA spokesperon tells us that the actress seems to have had a change of heart after seeing the organization’s anti-fur window displays at Topshop in London. During her whirlwind week there — which included the Casino Royale after party and hosting the World Music Awards — she was seen wearing a white fake fur jacket and an anti-fur button on her hat. While PETA tells us that Paris Hilton and other celebs have sworn off fur, Jennifer Lopez and other stars have recently been spotted in fur-trimmed jackets. Tell us: Where do you stand on the fur debate? Would you wear it?

I would wear fake fur but not real fur …..

what is the difference in wearing fur or leather? the animal still is killed for it. I bet the ones that don’t wear fur have some leather in their closets. :)

I definitely would wear fur. God put animals on this earth and gave us dominion over them. Genesis 1-11. After Adam sinned, God made coats of skins and clothed Adam and Eve. To do this, God must have killed at least one animal (possibly more). I don’t believe in torturing animals, but they were put here to serve man.

I would never wear real fur because I’d never want to think that an animal had to be electrocuted just so that I can have another coat, purse, etc.

A lot of leather is probably by-product from killing animals for meat. The bigger question is, can you come down for eating meat and still oppose fur?

That aside, rah to Linsday for going anti. Meat’s at least food – fur’s just mean.

I have inherrited two furs that I keep for sentimental purposes (but do not wear because they are old and fragile). If I were to wear fur it would be faux – just like Lindsay Lohan is (and I’m not talking about her attire).

I would never ever wear fur. it’s just wrong. difference between leather and fur? we eat meat if we didn’t do anything with the leather it would be a terrible waste.

I think they all have too much time on their hands. I give that whole “no fur” a big WHATEVER!

i dont see any reason to wear clothes that are made from animals, why not buy clothing made of natural materials, its very selfish to buy fur clothing
