Gotta Buy: A TuneBuckle

08/24/2006 at 05:56 PM ET

I have a startling confession to make: I don’t own an iPod. I’ve gotten used to people either gasping or jeering at my low-techness. My tune may be changing soon, so to speak, thanks to fashion-forward designers making super-cute bags and jeans with iPod pockets. The latest is the TuneBuckle, a belt that turns your Nano into a buckle. Your iPod is protected in an aluminum casing, sits right at your hip for easy music changes and — bonus — your pants stay up! Fashion has never been so sensible. It comes in three different styles, starting at $60. Go to for more info. — Joyce Huang

That is so HOT! NOT! It looks like some overpriced lame fad that no normal person would wear. Plus they only have one belt? Who wants to wear the same belt as everyone else on the planet?

Anyone putting the tunebuckle doesn’t know what they are talking about. The tune buckle is very useful!!!! I am always carrying around my 6 cats, and my parrot, so it is nice to listen to music when my hands are full. Now I can rock out to pantera with the grandkids. Thanks tunebuckle!!

duh, of course you don’t wear a TuneBuckle to work out… but what about on long car/plane/train trips? They make a bunch of different designs so you can protect and/or conceal your ipod. This is awesome for students who go abroad and don’t want to risk leaving stuff in their pockets/backpacks/etc. Pretty good idea… stealth ipod!!

This thing sucks. I bought one, stupidly, tried to wear it once and am embarassed to put it on again. sorta ugly and way too trendy and will go out of style well before i’ve earned my $59 back.
